2002 Veneto Trip

The good friends of Paesano's took our inaugural trip to the Veneto region this past September 7-15th.

Our group of twenty was drawn from diners, and members of our various wine, language, and cooking classes.

We chose the Veneto because it is home to our chef, Isabella Nicoletti, and we set up our base of operations at the centrally located, 4 star, Hotel Accademia in beautiful Verona.

Side trips were made to Milano, Venice, Padua, Asolo, Soave, and the place where I could live the rest of my life, Sirmione, located on the tip of a peninsula jutting out into Lake Garda.

Through guides we we're enlightened to various great works of art, history, and the daily life of this area, but the highlights of the trip for this paesano were the visits to vineyards (especially visiting old friend Dario Boscaini), a grapperia, the olive oil museum, and of course, the daily, multi-course feasts at some of the areas finest restaurants.  No dinner is complete without wine, and the Italians really know how to keep it flowing!

Our plan is to continue a trip every year; next up is ten days in Sicily, May 17-27th.  Contact us for further information, or watch the newspapers, newsletters, in the restaurant, and this website. We believe the best group size is 25-30, so get your reservation early.

Life is what you make of it--life is now!
